Frequently asked questions about Managed Colocation

What is Managed Colocation and how does it work in practice?

Ícone de interface

EVEO Managed Colocation is a service in which a company rents specialized physical space (rack units) inside a professional Data Center to install its own servers and network equipment. It is the ideal solution for businesses that own their hardware but lack the budget or local infrastructure (cooling, redundant power and security) to keep it at the technical standards that critical operations demand.

What is the difference between EVEO Managed Colocation and traditional colocation?

Ícone de interface

With traditional Colocation, the provider delivers only rack space and power, so your team has to travel to the site for any physical adjustment. As the first Managed Colocation company in Brazil, EVEO keeps a specialized local team available 24/7 to perform physical interventions on your equipment (proactive Remote Hands), eliminating your team's travel costs.

What is included in the physical management ("Managed") part of the service?

Ícone de interface

The management EVEO provides is strictly physical and hardware-related. Our local team performs tasks on demand or proactively, such as: cabling changes, physical server restarts (reboots), visual checks of panel alerts, replacement of physical components you supply, and continuous environmental monitoring. Management of operating systems, applications and internal data remains fully under your company's control.

What types of companies is Managed Colocation ideal for?

Ícone de interface

It is ideal for organizations that already own or need to buy their own servers but have realized that running an in-house Data Center brings high energy costs, requires nonstop maintenance and takes up the IT team's time with operational tasks. It is the perfect solution for those looking to eliminate CAPEX (investment in construction and cooling/power equipment) and keep the technical team focused on the company's business rules.

Will my company's team still have control over applications and data?

Ícone de interface

Yes, control remains entirely yours. Logical access, operating system credentials, databases and internal network policies are the sole responsibility of your IT team. EVEO does not access the software or the information stored on your machines; our role is focused on ensuring uninterrupted power, connectivity and local hardware support.

What connection and integration options are available?

Ícone de interface

The service fully supports advanced interconnections. You can integrate your Colocation infrastructure with your company's existing network via VPN, use internal Cross-Connects and connect directly to cloud environments (hybrid architectures), ensuring stable, secure, ultra-low-latency traffic.

How does the equipment shipping and activation process work?

Ícone de interface

The process is simple and structured to avoid friction: your company ships the servers to EVEO (or secures the planned rack/cage space); our local team handles the physical installation in the Data Center, runs all the structured cabling and validates the initial power and network connections. From then on, the environment is available for your remote access and is covered by EVEO's 24/7 physical monitoring.

How much rack space can I contract?

Ícone de interface
Options range from a few rack units to full racks and enclosed cage environments, depending on your equipment volume and your project's physical isolation requirements.

How does physical access to the Data Center work for my team?

Ícone de interface
Access is controlled and scheduled, with prior identification of authorized people and an escort during the visit. For most tasks there is no need to go on site: the EVEO team performs the physical intervention through the Remote Hands service.

What is the Colocation availability SLA?

Ícone de interface
The contracted availability is 99.5% for power and connectivity. The facilities are Tier III, with generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and redundant cooling.

How is power billed?

Ícone de interface
Power consumption is factored into the contract sizing, based on the power contracted per rack. The model is set out in the proposal, with no surprise charges at the end of the month.

Can I bring my existing equipment or do I need to buy new?

Ícone de interface
You can install the equipment you already own, as long as it is compatible with the rack standard and with the Data Center's electrical and cooling requirements. The EVEO team reviews the equipment list before the move.

How does the internet connection work in Colocation?

Ícone de interface
Connectivity is delivered through EVEO's network infrastructure, with carrier redundancy and the option of a cross-connect to your own link or to partners located in the same facility.

How long does it take to get my equipment into production?

Ícone de interface
Once the proposal is approved and the equipment is shipped, the local team handles installation, cabling, and power and network validation. The timeline depends on the volume of equipment and is set in the migration plan agreed with your team.
