Frequently asked questions about Bare Metal Dedicated Servers
What is a dedicated server and why does it change your operation?
A dedicated server is a physical server exclusive to your company: processor, memory and storage are not shared with anyone. Unlike a VPS, where the machine is sliced among several customers, and the public cloud, where you pay for variable usage in US dollars. At EVEO, it runs in our own Tier III Data Center in Brazil, with activation within 2 business days on annual plans and a 99.5% SLA.
What is the difference between a dedicated server and bare metal?
In practice, none: every EVEO dedicated server is bare metal. Both terms describe a physical server exclusive to a single customer. "Dedicated server" highlights that the hardware is not shared with anyone. "Bare metal" highlights that there is no virtualization layer between the hardware and the operating system. As a result, processor, memory and storage are 100% available to your application, and you can install the operating system or hypervisor of your choice, such as Windows Server, Linux, VMware or Proxmox.
Is a dedicated server secure?
How much does a dedicated server cost?
Pricing depends on the hardware configuration your project needs, such as processor model, amount of RAM, NVMe/SSD/HDD storage and network port bandwidth. At EVEO, the big advantage is full predictability: the monthly fee is fixed in Brazilian reais, with no setup fee (free setup) and no surprises on your bill. You can simulate and customize your machine directly in our configurator.
Is it better to rent or buy a server?
For most companies, renting pays off more. The main reasons:
- No upfront investment (CAPEX becomes OPEX): you don't need to pay for the hardware purchase, which can reach tens of thousands of reais.
- Continuous technology refresh: components become outdated over the years. With rental, it is easier to move to more modern hardware as technology evolves, without worrying about selling or disposing of old equipment.
- Scalability: if your company needs more CPU, RAM or storage, EVEO expands the configuration without you going through a new hardware purchase cycle. This matters even more for growing operations or those that handle demand peaks.
- Financial predictability: with in-house infrastructure, besides the purchase, there are fixed maintenance costs. With rental, much of that spending becomes a fixed monthly fee in Brazilian reais.
What is a dedicated server used for?
How long does activation take?
Provisioning at EVEO is fast and streamlined. For standard configurations, activation takes up to 2 business days. As soon as the commercial proposal is approved, our engineering team prepares, validates and delivers access to the environment.
What are the advantages of a dedicated server?
A dedicated server lets your company support critical applications and workloads that require high performance, continuous stability, full isolation and complete control over the environment. It is the ideal solution for enterprise ERP/CRM systems, high-volume relational databases, high-traffic e-commerce, SaaS platforms, virtualization environments and systems that cannot tolerate performance fluctuations.
- Guaranteed performance: all processing capacity (Intel® Xeon® or AMD EPYC® CPU), RAM, storage and network belongs exclusively to your project.
- Isolation and privacy: zero resource contention and stronger security.
- Full customization: freedom to configure the hardware and operating system exactly as your application requires.
- Unlimited traffic: connections with ports of up to 10Gbps and no surprise fees based on data transfer volume.
- Financial predictability: fixed billing in Brazilian reais (BRL), with no exchange-rate risk or unpredictable taxes.
Can I customize the configuration?
When should you choose a dedicated server?
- Your application requires continuous high processing power or handles intense traffic peaks.
- You need full isolation to meet LGPD (Brazil's General Data Protection Law), PCI-DSS or other compliance requirements.
- The shared environment (public cloud or VPS) can no longer handle your current demand.
- You want cost predictability, with no surprises from variable usage or egress fees.
- Your operation cannot tolerate instability or slowdowns caused by other customers on the same server.
Which dedicated server models does EVEO offer?
Intel® Xeon® bare metal dedicated server for maximum performance: hardware from EVEO, an official Intel® Xeon® partner, designed for companies of all sizes that need high performance and reliability in a secure, highly available environment.
Dedicated server with KVM panel and full remote access: full remote access through the KVM panel developed by EVEO: display, keyboard, mouse and virtual drive. Recover the server by booting from recovery operating systems, take control from the BIOS up, upload your ISOs and install everything exactly the way you want.
What sets EVEO dedicated servers apart?
- Connectivity: direct connection to major networks such as Akamai, Cloudflare, Microsoft, Google and AWS.
- Remote access / KVM: KVM panel developed by EVEO with full remote access to the dedicated server: display, keyboard, mouse and virtual drive.
- Resilience for demand peaks: dedicated servers with enterprise hardware sized to sustain continuous high usage or unexpected traffic peaks without performance drops.
- SSD and NVMe I/O performance: very low latency in read and write operations with enterprise SSD and NVMe storage, even for demanding workloads or email servers with high message flow.
- Dedicated network security: network resources for isolation and security. DDoS protection included in all plans and IPv6 available at no extra cost.
- Daily backup (add-on service): your data stored in an external, fail-safe environment. Full protection against accidental file deletion, database corruption, ransomware attacks and more.

How do RAID and backup work on the dedicated server?
The RAID level is defined according to your application's needs, not fixed by plan: EVEO configures the array with you before delivery, considering the balance between performance and redundancy your workload requires. Backup is done with Veeam, with the license purchased separately, and can be sized by volume and by your company's retention policy.
Is there a dedicated server with GPU?
Yes. For artificial intelligence, machine learning, rendering and parallel processing workloads, EVEO offers NVIDIA Dedicated GPU on an exclusive physical server, with the same Data Center infrastructure, the same 24/7 support and the same contractual SLA.
